Magellanic penguins are only found around the Falkland Islands and South America. Magellanic Penguins prefer to nest in burrows. Magellanic penguins eat fish, squid and crustaceans. Birds generally forage at depths of less than 50m, but can dive up to 100m. Magellanic penguins declined severely in the Falkland Islands during the 1980's and 1990's, which coincided with the rise of commercial fishing. All Penguins drink salt water. They have special glands that remove the salt.
